Importing with Properties (Containers)

These instructions are for those that are using our containers feature. They will guide you through importing project/property containers, as well as importing "child" work attached to project/property containers.

To import project/property containers:

1. First, create an import file for your container project. To do this, it is easiest to first do an export of one of your container templates to get a base line for the file. After you have created your import file for the containers, import the file to create the container projects. Please refer to our import instructions here.

To import "child" work attached to project/property containers:

1. You will need to first get the project id's of the container projects. To do this, you can do an export of your container projects. Please refer to our export instructions here.

The project id will appear under the "project_id" column in your csv file. Copy these project id numbers for your import file for the child projects.

2. To create the "child" work import, it is easiest to first do an export of the "child" work template. See above. You will then use that as a guide for creating your import file.

3. The project id's will need to go under a different column you create in the imported titled "container_id". You will need to match the project id to the projects that you want to go under the container project. Enter the data for this import file and then Import the csv file. You will see the child projects will be created under the container (parent) projects. Please refer to our import instructions here.
